For Drivers¶
Overview¶
The H2-Stations Map is a free, public tool that shows hydrogen refuelling stations (HRS) across Europe. You can use it to find open stations near you, check real-time availability, and get directions, all from your browser, without creating an account.
Understanding Station Status¶
Each station on the map is represented by a colour-coded marker that shows its current refuelling status at a glance.
| Marker | Status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Green pump icon | Available | The station is open and hydrogen is available for refuelling. |
| Yellow wrench icon | Limited availability | The station is open but operating with reduced capacity or constraints. |
| Red ✗ icon | Unavailable | The station is currently not able to dispense hydrogen. |
| Blue ? icon | Availability unknown | The station has not reported its current status. |
| Grey clock icon | Outside opening hours | The station is currently closed based on its scheduled hours. |
| Grey crossed-pump icon | Fuel type not provided | This station does not offer the currently selected fuel type (e.g. 700 bar for car vs. 350 bar for car vs. 350 bar for truck). |
Finding a Station¶
Searching by Name or Location¶
Press Ctrl+F to open the search bar. Type the name of a station to filter the map. Matching stations will be highlighted.
Filtering by Fuel Type¶
Use the fuel type filter to select which fuel type you are interested in: 700 bar for car, 350 bar for car, or 350 bar for truck. The map markers will update to reflect availability for the selected fuel type. Stations that do not offer the selected fuel type appear with a grey crossed-pump marker.
Showing Your Location¶
Use the location button to show your current location on the map. This makes it easy to find stations near you.
Resetting the View¶
Use the reset control to zoom the map out and show all stations at once.

Tips¶
- Status updates automatically. The map refreshes station availability in the background.
- Direct links work. If you share a URL that includes a station parameter (e.g.
?hrs=123), the map will open directly to that station's detail panel. - Availability unknown does not mean unavailable. A blue
?marker means the station has not sent a status report — it may still be operational. Check the station's opening hours and contact details for confirmation.
